Samsung fans who have been waiting with bated breath for the arrival of Galaxy S5 have all the reasons to rejoice. The tech giant has just announced the Unpacked 5 event for February 24 in Barcelona, right at the MWC start.
The Episode one of the event which will be streamed live on YouTube on 20:00 CET (00:30 IST Feb 25) will give a sneak peek into its next flagship device. Given that the '5' in the Unpacked 5 is quite prominent, there are no brownies for guessing what we will be seeing. Expected to hit global markets by April, the Galaxy S5 is said to be accompanied by a new and curved version of Gear watch as well.
Hang on tight, the wait is almost over!!

What to expect from Galaxy S5?
On the sidelines of the CES in Las Vegas, Lee Young Hee, Executive Vice President of Samsung's mobile business spoke about the company's upcoming flagship in an interview with Bloomberg.
According to Hee, Samsung will follow the same launch timeline as it did with the Galaxy S4 and release the handset in April of this year. The phone will be launched along with the next iteration of Samsung's wearable tech device, the Galaxy Gear. Lee specified that the smartwatch will come with improved functionality and a sleeker design...

Though some leaks suggest that the Galaxy S5 will sport a fingerprint scanner similar to the one on the iPhone 5S, others refute the claim completely. Now, it looks like the Galaxy S5 will come with an eye scanner, a recognition technology Samsung is currently working on.
Lee also promised that the Galaxy S5 will come with a dramatically different design from its predecessors. We expect the handset to be slimmer and lighter than the Galaxy S4 - and Samsung might do away with its age old rounded edges design on the newbie as well.
Lee spoke about the Galaxy S5, 'When we moved to S4 from S3, it’s partly true that consumers couldn’t really feel much difference between the two products from the physical perspective, so the market reaction wasn’t as big...For the S5, we will go back to the basics. Mostly, it’s about the display and the feel of the cover.'
